Poll shows a need for Legal Reform

A poll conducted by Harris Interactive among American adults found that only 16% of Americans trust the legal system to be able to defend them against baseless claims.

There is prevalent agreement on the need for legal reform. And it’s high time that we stop lawsuit abuse! Here are the results of the poll.

* 87% agree that a great number of people use the justice system like they would use a lottery by initiating lawsuits to see if they can win millions of dollars in settlements.
* 66% agree that fear of frivolous lawsuits discourages many people from performing their normal activities.
* 56% think there are fundamental changes that are needed in order to make the U.S. civil justice system to work better.
* 88% agree more judges are needed who will discourage frivolous lawsuits.
* 77% agree that lawyers who agree to take on frivolous lawsuits should be fined.
* 83% agree that the present legal system makes it easy to make invalid claims.
